ACCESS involved a virtual week of training and mentorship as well as a trip to the Clifford Chance office. We completed a series of virtual internships and were ultimately given places on ACCESS Spark: a one week paid work experience programme.
We developed commercial awareness while gaining a helpful insight into the world of corporate law. We were also coached in interview skills and worked on our public speaking through the pitch exercise we completed.
It was an incredible opportunity and every stage was fun and exciting. I felt well supported and was given a massive career boost through the programme. I was able to learn a lot and see whether a career in corporate law was for me.
It was very well organised - even during covid times. We had a scheme of work and multiple training sessions organised for us which we were made aware of in good time.
We were given the opportunity to meet current trainees and they seemed to truly love their place of work. I could see the commitment to inclusivity and empowerment and this showed me that Clifford Chance would be an amazing place to work.
It was extremely helpful as this was my first insight into the day to day life of a corporate lawyer. I learnt about how current trainees were finding their job and am now better able to make a decision for my future.
We were reimbursed expenses, sent gifts and paid for ACCESS Spark
There were many networking opportunities - both virtual and in person. This allowed for lots of LinkedIn connections and lots of candid answers to my numerous questions.
Yes
It’s an amazing working environment where they are clearly pushing for your development. The people who work there genuinely like it and the development opportunities are unmatched. The firm is also generous with time and resources and the networking opportunities were great.
