From day to day I attend meeting where we discuss the day's schedule and share our thoughts on what parts of our project need improving. Most projects are admin or digital IT/technology based. Then we work in a group of three to ensure that what we planned gets completed. We use Microsoft Teams and Outlook to communicate with staff.
I have been able to develop my programming skills whilst using Azure and Java. Accenture has a tonne of courses and so I am always able to learn new skills in the free time I have ranging from data analysis to AI. I find it to be very convinient for me. Also, as the training provider is UEL I am required to research and write essays on many technical skills imploring my understanding of each.
I think this apprenticeship is a great opportunity for those who are interested in the tech world and want to learn niche skills which is what builds a software. The people here are clever and always willing to share their experiences and tips with you plus the clients you get to work in projects for are usually big and reputable which is a plus.
It is well organised as there are apprentice meeting regularly taking place every week and we have a team lead, project manager and HR manager which is helpful when reaching out for requests and information. It makes the getting hired for a project part a lot easier. The studying side is also organised great as we go university every week and all the work is listed up on Moodle meaning tasks are neatly ordered. Mentors are different for each subject topic.
I am guided throughly for any questions I have as we have a big team who are advanced and knowledgable in the field we work within at Accenture. Most of the staff are always eager and are able to make time for meetings but some do not reply to their emails and so it requires you to catch up to them through another member of staff.
The support from UEL is great, they do their bit in trying to make everyone understand the subject matter at hand and no questions get overlooked. This allows us to fix any problems or inquiries we have as soon as possible before we get quizzed and tested on them meaning better results.
I also find the qualification topics enjoyable and informative as they relate to both the role and our current society and it gives me an insight on how professional sectors are run and what kind of work goes behind setting up a website and running a company. The practical knowledge helps me with my Accenture projects. Some parts are not as practical though but that is just a small sector.
Volunteering programs are always open and sometimes there are also networking events which is a good way to get the company staff together and meet new people. They have clubs but they are not as eventful and rely on remote events through Teams which shed knowledge and gives a platform to the club members to share thoughts.
Yes
Accenture is a company that has lots of opportunities within working here I am able to learn about all these topics relating to my interests through courses plus there is always support for me if I require any help. It makes me feel less alone as an apprentice as this is a new field for me.
I would say it's very important for you to practise and develop the STAR technique as well as practising your reasoning which gets assessed later on in the process. Ask many questions and relate to Accenture's values as much as you can so they know that you know their brand very well. Good luck to the ones applying!
