I repair the buses once they have been inspected and complete and mechanical and electrical repairs and sign the jobs off once completed. It involves removing and replacing parts that are worn/ damaged and repairing any electrical faults that may occur within the bus
Yes, I am constantly learning and developing new skills in the workplace. I was placed with a mentor for my first year who guided me and taught me the skills I needed to know in order to complete tasks.
I enjoy my apprenticeship programme but there could be some improvements. Allowing is time in The workplace to complete and college work and write ups would be ideal
I would say that due to covid in 2019. Our apprenticeship programme has been slow and we have fallen behind in our college studies as we have not been able to travel to Scotland
I do receive support from my employer and they do set targets for me to achieve in the workplace. Due to the workplace being short staffed I have to complete other jobs as per the supervisors request which does not allow me any time to complete the targets they set me
I do receive support from Gtg and they do teach me well and explain things in detail which is exactly what you want from a training provider. This includes working in the workshop and physically carrying out tasks
They teach me things more in depth in the college rather than in the workplace. In the workplace, tasks are completed at a much quicker rate as we have to meet service requirements
Yes there are extra curricular activities to get involved in such as football with other workers
Yes
