It was very engaging and educational. The partners and associates were also very helpful in the aspect of providing the key information required. Each day we had learnt something new, networking was one of the best aspects of the programme as well as the presentations and the interview prep we received.
Throughout this experience, our knowledge and skills were developed. However, for me personally, my communication skills had definitely developed alongside my commercial awareness, self confidence, reliance and esteem. Because of this, I have become adaptable and is something I can implement in day to day activities and feel more comfortable networking with individuals.
I had thoroughly enjoyed my experience during the work experience. It had exceeded my expectations, every day was a new day for learning, it made me realise although law is not the career I wish to go into, it is still something I would enjoy as a hobby as the team was extremely respectful and accommodating.
Everything was organised to a T. there was an introductory session where we had met everyone, had the opportunity to do some networking. met the partners. Other days we had ice breakers, worked on our presentations, having the support if needed. The structure of the programme was educational and stable.
in the week that we had the experience, we had understood the culture, the type of work and level of dedication required. The company is very diverse and accommodating. If law was the career I did go into, it is definitely a company I would want to work for because of their strong values and atmosphere.
this work experience had provided me with the insight into the industry. At the time of work experience I was studying law at A levels. It had made me realise although it is not a career I wish to go into, it is definitely an interesting hobby. throughout our time there, we had the insights of trainee associates and partners and their time at the company.
This work experience was very accommodating. A lot of the individuals were students and travelling from other cities, as long as receipts were provided, we could be reimbursed for this experience. Because I had travelled there, the firm had also offered to book a hotel room for me near the company.
From day 1 we had received many opportunities to network and meet trainee solicitors and partners. because of this experience it had made me comfortable to initiate conversations with other individuals. as a follow up form the work experience we also had the opportunity for a reunion to see where every one had found themselves.
Yes
the experience I had was very educational, it helped develop a lot of my skills. It was very engaging, the opportunity to network was also very reinforcing in the aspect of meeting new people and developing those people and communication skills. it had also helped me to step our of my comfort zone on many of the occasions which I am grateful for.
always keep up to date with the latest news and activities. follow the social medias that are there, always a chance to learn new things from the one day takeovers. in terms of the application process make sure there is something there that makes you stand out from the other applicants. Always have plenty of experience and this opportunity can get you the insight you need.
