My role is partially a Sales and Administration role and partly Technical; bridging the gap between the Sales and Operational sides for Marston's Telecoms (part of Marston's PLC). Tasks range from talking to customers and assisting in the sales process to providing Technical expertise to the Sales Team.
I have improved my communication skillset and learnt a lot about the Telecommunications industry. My line manager and company MD have been very supportive and gave me a lot of additional learning and scope to improve my technical skillset and projects that have enabled me to feel valued within the workplace
So far the program has been enjoyable and informative - enabling me to learn and develop my knowledge whilst also finding ways to implement my findings within my day to day role at work. This has further been supported my line manager and company MD who are fully invested in me and my further education.
The programme is structured well, with classes and home learning. The classes are fantastic and have a mix of theoretical and practical work with a knowledgeable and engaging teacher. The assignments that follow are designed to reinforce the knowledge gained and help is always at hand by a designated course trainer if needed.
My employer provides me with anything and everything that I could need. My employer is fantastic and ensures that any time that I require for study, help or knowledge within the business is available to me to ask questions and gain additional knowledge. I could not wish for a better and more supportive employer.
So far, QA has been great. The teacher that I have had for my first 2 or 3 live learning sessions has been fantastic. My DLC outside of the classroom session has been supportive and prompt to answer queries.
As my role has a technical element, the additional knowledge that I have gained has made me feel more confident and able to converse better, with more authority with my colleagues. As I have been composing more documents and using more complex maths through my course, I have noticed that my day-to-day work has also improved.
I have been recently attending some networking events through work which have been a great experience for me personally.
Yes
They are very supportive of additional learning and are very open to helping me with further knowledge and understanding of my job role, performance and areas in which further learning could be useful. The whole company has a great ethos and work ethic and is very encouraging to all individuals that work within our business.
Be passionate and open. We are very welcoming and are always looking to recruit knowledgeable, passionate and driven people to join our team. We want to be the best Telecoms company within the best pub company in the UK and to do that need the best people to join us to achieve that goal.
