ACCESS involves a significant amount, but to keep it short: online tutoring, a 4-day legal placement, mentors, experience delivered via Social Mobility Business Partnership, ‘action’ community work, networking, board member insight, coaching, university prep, 1:1 with Graduate Recruitment, and eventually SPARK (£450p/w). More detail via CC website!
I have learnt countless things from ACCESS, but most notably an invaluable insight into the legal sector. I have learnt also how to network, balance my time and work, and how to develop my own ‘brand’. I feel well prepped for a career in corporate Law due to ACCESS.
If you have an interest in Law, you’d love ACCESS. I have thoroughly enjoyed every event: not only learning more about the sector, but also being able to network with like-minded individuals. The staff are supportive and always smiling, and I have very much furthered my passion for Law.
ACCESS was a clearly very well thought out and organised programme: every event has been seamless and extremely well prepped. The staff running ACCESS could not be more helpful if I ever had an issue - they are always happy to address any concerns.
I learnt significantly about the company culture, and even more so when we were invited to the office for a day. To work at Clifford Chance would be an opportunity to work at a progressive, supportive, and collaborative environment, alongside a diverse group of genuinely kind and hardworking individuals.
It has consolidated that corporate Law is the sector that I wish to pursue my career: ACCESS has been instrumental in giving me clarity in what I want for my future.
ACCESS, from 2022, is a paid scheme and members will receive £390p/w for placements. Travel to the Canary Wharf office is always reimbursed, and Clifford Chance have been very generous with reimbursement for other costs. If you complete ACCESS, SPARK will be paid £450p/w.
There are so many opportunities for networking under ACCESS. During the office visit particularly, members were mixed with trainee solicitors and part of the graduate recruitment team, so, alongside mixing with other members on the programme, this made for a perfect networking event. After, we all connected via LinkedIn also!
Yes
Put simply, the programme is unparalleled. To work with such an impressive, top law firm is incredible, not to mention the countless opportunities that the firm provides also. I have recommended it previously, and would recommend it again in a heartbeat!
Think about the skills you have already adopted and how you can relate it to a career in Law. Research the firm and become aware of their culture, work, ethos, & values. Always let your personality shine through your application and don’t simply regurgitate what is online! Make it yours.
