My role involved greeting customers, answering phone calls and making appointments as well as keeping general upkeep of the salon . I would have open and closing tasks as well as tasks I had to do throughout the day . These tasks were as simple as putting a sign out and complicated like a stock take.
I have learnt a lot from Vanessa and Joth. The sessions have been interactive and fun with Vanessa. The sessions cover a wide range of matters which include the apprenticeship diploma and general well being. I have learnt more specific barbering terminology from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] as well as [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and also have been learning haircutting methods and techniques.

I had PowerPoint sent across , videos recommended and face to face communication with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] every month to go over any issues and concerns I had. Overall was brilliant .
The programme was structured and there is plan every visit. A test is given every month and I get homework regularly. We go through any issues I have with the homework and any upcoming assignments every visit. On each visit we go through the assessment criteria for upcoming assessment and reflect on the one I have done.
I receive lots of support from my employer. We block a full day out and half a day to train one on one . This is very good as I learn so much and appreciate the time they take out. He provides training material and facilities to train as well learning material like videos and books,
I receive lots of support from Vanessa. We block out an allocated time twice a month for support . This is very good as I learn and we cover a wide range of matters which include homework, apprenticeship, and if I have any concerns. I also have training material provided from Realise .
The knowledge I am learning from Joth and the staff are unmatched. They are all professionals and extremely good at what they do . They all have vast knowledge and the skills and experience to match. This will help me perform better as by being around these people it has a positive impact on me.
There is regular staff events which I have attended . These are great for team building, and building confidence and creates a better working environment. These events were watching sports live, going for leisure activities like bowling. We are planning on going to a national barbering event as a team which is something I am looking forward to.
