  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I learned a variety of new skills, including improving my Excel skills by updating numerous spreadsheets and databases, as well as completing various analyses as part of the team. I have free time to work on a personal skill that I believe I lack, such as presentation skills or learning to code in R through taking linked in courses. There's always opportunities to learn new skills through getting involved in different projects or through various online courses available.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My rotations and managers were pre-determined, and there were clear induction sessions to the programme and with the training provider, so I believe the structure of the programme is well-thought out and well-planned. There is also a lot of flexibility in terms of the projects I want to work on within each team, allowing me to adapt it to my interests or areas where I think I can improve my skills.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider provides me with a lot of support. Every month, I meet with him one-on-one to discuss how the apprenticeship is going and to ask him any questions or concerns I may have. He has been extremely helpful in advising me on various study strategies and assisting me in completing my apprenticeship to the greatest standard possible.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I am currently working on the Investment Management Certification (IMC), which is only one level below the CFA. It has been very beneficial to study for the IMC to gain industry knowledge through the financial markets and regulations chapter in unit 1, however unit 2 which I have recently begun studying for would be much more valuable as it directly applies to my position in investment.
