We answer colleagues queries and requests. This could be requests to change a colleagues manager, work pattern, working hours, job title etc. We also get queries about many different things from colleagues and we need to source the answer or at least point them in the right direction within the business.
Yes I have developed my confidence within all different aspects of my job, from how to process certain requests, how to answer certain queries, reaching out to colleagues, managers and higher ups to try and identify solutions. I have also learnt a lot about different aspects of HR e.g. maternity leave
I have been at Sage for just over 3.5 years, I started off doing my level 3 CIPD and then I have moved onto my level 5 within Sage and it has been very challenging at times but I have pushed on and I do really enjoy working for Sage and also learning within the programme as I go.
It has been organised to a point. as my provider outsources to another company it is hard to get in touch with the provider who is in charge of the CIPD aspect of the programme. I do have regular contact with my tutor from Realise who is very helpful within calls.
I receive a lot of support from my team and manager within Sage. I take one full day a week to complete my apprenticeship work and to ensure I am on track with any research projects, assignments, presentations etc that I have outstanding. If I ever need to ask a question there is always someone I feel like I can approach.
I get workshops every 6 weeks from my tutor, along with monthly one to one's to go through the work I have been doing and to go over any queries I may have. They also plan in tripartite reviews with myself, my manager and the tutor to talk about any concerns and work I have upcoming etc.
I believe by learning more within my qualification it gives me more knowledge each time I learn something new. For example, I had never been involved with policies or procedures until this role where we need to ask to make amendments etc to help with the colleague experience and by doing an employment law assignment this has helped me understand this better.
There are a lot of extra curricular actives to get involved with at work, they have colleagues at Sage, a Diversity and Inclusion group, the Sage choir, Sage Belong champions. So there is literally something for everyone within Sage that they can decide to be apart of if they wish.
Yes
I would recommend Sage to a friend mostly due to the positive friendly culture it provides. Since I started Sage in 2018 everyone has been so lovely and welcoming. Another reason why I would recommend Sage is because they care about their employees and want them to do well and have a positive experience no matter what.
I would advise everyone who wants to apply for Sage just to be themselves and don't be afraid to be honest within the interview process and when you start a new role. If you are struggling within your apprenticeship there will be so many people who will want to help you.
