I have recently changed from an L&D specialist role to a Commutations and Change role, which supports our Core HR system and new LMS
I am currently studying for my CIPD Level 5 and an apprenticeship is L&D Consultancy. This has enabled me to work with an array of internal and external stakeholders on projects that positively impact the entire national business
I really enjoy the programme and the resources I have at hand to support with learning. I especially enjoy the blended learning aspect, where some of the learning is accessed online, with the rest being documented on the job. I enjoy the fact that the programme allows me to reflect on my learning.
I feel supported by my Learning Coach and the structure of the knowledge aspect of the apprenticeship is hosted on the learning portal, which is set up brilliantly well. The tutors are also on hand to keep you motivated and provide assistance and support. The meetings with my coach are great and I am enjoying using the new BUD system
I am left to manage my own time and off the job training which is great, but I always know that I can go to my Manager when I need support. I have weekly one to one updates with my Manager and this gives me ample opportunity to talk about my progress or any issues I may have. I find Aldi to be really supportive.
I receive a lot of guidance from my coach with regards to my qualification. In my updates, I am able to summarise my learnings which I find very useful, as it checks my understanding. My coach has been extremely helpful at pushing me and holding me accountable for my qualification, by setting me smaller, manageable goals. I really enjoy these sessions.
This qualification has hugely helped me in my role, as it has enabled me to work on projects which I wouldn't have necessarily been privy to otherwise. As a result, I have been able to work with a range of stakeholders and Management teams throughout the organisation and add value to their learning and experiences of training at Aldi
Aldi's charity partner is the Teenage Cancer Trust and there are ample opportunities to get involved with raising money at a local level, throughout the entire business. As a result, all staff are engaged with raising funds for the TCT and partake in social events, such as coffee & cake mornings or more energetic activities such as fitness challenges.

Aldi is a great employer and encourages you to develop yourself. You really have the control of your career and development path and the business is constantly introducing ways to help and encourage Colleagues to learn. One recent example of this would be the imminent launch of our new LMS in August 22.
Aldi is a rewarding employer who encourages employee growth and development. There are countless opportunities to develop your career path, if you so wish. The training pathways for Logistics and Operations are very clear and engaging, which make it easy to succeed in your day to day role. Our Leaders are always supporting and open to conversations about development.
