  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program a lot as taking the apprentice route has allowed me more flexibility in my learning and tends to suit my learning style of being more hands on and practical. I have gained a lot by being in my programme and have gained long lasting relationships and skills.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the apprenticeship programme could benefit from being more organised. This is mostly due to supervisors not have as much experience with mentoring apprentices who may start the job with less skills or knowledge as an graduate and would therefore require more guidance. Despite the structure and organisation lacking, I would still say it is manageable and a great experience for developing confidence and initiative.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support that I receive from my employer can not be faulted at all. Mott Macdonald is a brilliant environment to work in. I would say my employers put a great emphasis on health over work and make effort to ensure no one is overloaded with anything they cant handle

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support received from my training provider could do with improvement. i would say this is not a direct fault with my training provider but rather a consequence of the pandemic and not being able to receive any in person training and instead having to do it all online. Most lecturers are happy to assist if asked but a minority can tend to ignore or brush off when asked.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me perform better in my role as I learn about different aspects or my job and am equipped to deal with them when I come across these throughout my career. It gives me an understanding of the theory that I would require to complete my job more effectively and open up more opportunities for different types of work or disciplines
