My job role is that of a test analyst this involved producing prep documentation that documents how we plan to test part of an application and then we use this documentation to carry out our tests during the testing phase we record the results of our tests this is to ensure other people can look at the documents and work out areas that require more work and areas that are completed.
I have many new skills such as SQL, JAVA, testing practise and also developed some existing skills such as web design and organasational skills
I enjoy most parts of my programme as it is hands on experience instead of being taught theory and then expected to remember that months later for a job instead I am taught as it is needed which makes it much easier to remember the skills
Capgemini make a huge effort to make sure we feel valued as individuals by providing us plenty of support and training in our roles and also providing us communties to get involved with and making sure we fully understand all the processes involved in gaining extra rewards on top of our salary
For the most part the programme is well organised but at times communication does slip and some misunderstandings happen but they are quickly dealt with and resolved once raised to the appropriate people
QA's support on the apprenticeship is limited due to having mobile assessors and sometimes the communication with our assessor leaves a lot to be desired but when we are in contact he makes sure we understand what we are meant to be doing and he keeps a friendly approachable attitude.
Capgemini provide a lot of support to us from training courses to meetings provided with appropriate people that can help us complete the assessments set for us to complete. And everyone in the office is willing to help if you ask them.
My salary covers the cost of a basic living and does leave me a little short by the end of the month but I am well aware that it is an excellent wage for an apprentice and that it will increase as long as I perform at a satisfactory level
Capgemini provide many external projects that we get involved with as a charitable support to local businesses and groups and there is also a wide range of activities that other members of staff get involved with shown on the portal. There are also communities within the company such as the Aspire photography group that arrange trips for its members at a lower cost than it would normally be
Yes
I would and have reccomended Capgemini to friends as they provide an excellent salary for our level and they also provide us with first class training and support us to an excellent degree to ensure that we can further our careers with there support
I would advise people to turn up to assessment days with an open mind and be willing to share a little information about yourself with your interviewer as having a normal conversation with your interviewer before the interview process begins relaxs you and helps you to answer the questions that they ask. I would also advise people to welcome any training offered by the company with open arms as it is top notch training
