Day to Day Accounting - including daily banking, checking/sending receipts and payments, customer deposits, end of month accounts so reconciliations of nominal codes etc. End of month payment runs for the Purchase Ledger. Debt chasing for the Sales Ledger. Sales, purchase and nominal ledger checking. Registering, costing and raising invoices.
I have learnt every new task i’ve done since starting as this was my first role in accounts. Including daily banking, payments, Sales, purchase and nominal ledgers.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme. I enjoy the weekly sessions with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] where we learn the AAT content for exams and I enjoy my reviews with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. I genuinely enjoy learning the actual work, I don't enjoy the coursework side of the course as much as the content learning though.
Very well. Reviews are done every 2/3 months to keep on top of them and have frequent catch ups to ensure I am on track and feeling good in the course and the sessions are always on track to the timetable we received at the beginning of the course.
My employer is very supportive of my learning and this course in particular. My managers [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] will help me in anyway they can as in explaining things to me and helping me learn new tasks at work to coincide with my learning. They give me all the time I need to complete my coursework and my sessions weekly. Both of them have and always will be supportive in my progression.
Again, my training provider is equally as supportive as my managers. Particularly [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who helped me through my previous qualification as well. She completes reviews frequently so we can catch up and ensure I am still on track with my coursework mainly but also understanding all of my AAT work and enjoying/learning new tasks in my Job role.
My qualification has helped me significantly in my job role as although my managers are brilliant at teaching me new tasks and helping me learn, They are only showing me how to do that task for my company where as my AAT sessions teach me how to do that accounts task overall so I could use that knowledge for completing any accounts.
There aren't many that I know of anyway. I know the company has just started running litter picking at lunch time from head office to try and help the community but no social activities that I know of. As teams, we do organise social events such as nights out and team nights though.
Yes
As a company they are brilliant at supporting there colleagues. They will do whatever they can to help and push colleagues towards progressing in their roles! As well as supporting them in their job role and in personal life. Even the higher up roles such as the CFO sometimes check in on me and see how my qualification is going etc.
Definitely do it haha. I couldn't recommend the company more honestly. My sister has started working for the company since I started as well and she also believes they are a great company to work for. Just a genuine company thats all for the colleagues not just the customers.
