  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I actually have three different roles that I am required to do. I work within the retained services team, the intercompany agreements team and the offboarding team. The retained services role is the role in which I look after flexible resources e.g., academy resources. We liaise with third party suppliers in this role. The intercompany agreements team are responsible for creating i-SoWs (Intercompany Statements of Work) which are legally binding contracts. I have also been involved in an automation project for this role. Offboarding is where we ensure that all resource that leave the MU have access revoked.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have definitely learned lots of new skills. I have gained so much confidence both in myself and my abilities but also in speaking up and getting my ideas across. I have also developed my project management skills which has opened up a whole other door for me as I am now interested in looking at project management as a career.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy the programme. I really like having a whole community of other apprentices who are going through the same thing. I have made lots of friends that I would not have met if it wasn't for doing this apprenticeship as they live in other areas of the country. But it is also hard work. Trying to get all my work done and all of my assignments has been a struggle at times especially when things get busy with work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised. We were emailed right at the start and were given a breakdown of what we should expect and at what time. I also love how many coaching sessions we have with our Multiverse coaches. They are so helpful with keeping you on track and organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received a lot of support from Capgemini. My line manager always ensures that I have enough time to complete my tasks and always asks if there's anything my team can do to support me. I also found that the MU was very helpful as I was assigned a buddy right at the start of my programme. I still have weekly catchups with her where I am able to ask any questions I might have. She also helps me get involved in any events that are coming up.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We get assigned a coach before even going through our induction. My coach is available to email at all times and doesn't mind if I ask her any silly questions. She is so helpful and always makes me feel confident about what I'm doing even if I've misunderstood something. I also have her phone number which she has said I can use at any time I need to.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that the apprenticeship has helped me to think outside the box a bit more and I am performing better because of this. By going to masterclasses and gaining knowledge, I am then able to go back to my roles and apply the skills I have learnt. It has also helped with my confidence and has kept me accountable.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of different activities to get involved in. There are regular events that are put on about a variety of different subjects and there are lots of different clubs you can join. I have been a member of the Book Club for a few months and it has helped me expend my network. My team also have social lunches when we are in the office together.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Capgemini has been the best company I have ever worked for. They make a point of making sure that everyone is included and accepted. There are so many different paths for progression and so many different areas/roles people can join so there really is something for everyone. I would highly recommend working for Capgemini.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • I would say to make sure you are honest in your application. I came from a background in retail with no experience in this industry and I was honest about that. That meant I got extra support to transition. The assessment day is long but also fun and you get to meet people that you would be working with so make the most of it by asking lots of questions. And finally just make sure that Capgemini is the right company for you.
