I produces reports, calculations and drawings for a variety of projects. Whether it is the assessment of bridges or the design of a new structure. I also manage people and designs ensuring they reach the client on time and that the designs are in accordance with relevant standards. Having regular meetings with the clients to provide updates on progress.

I have learnt many new skills working at Mott MacDonald. The work I have done is very broad which has allowed me to develop lots of new skills in design and also communication. Holding meetings and presentations in front of a large audience has really aided my development. Also undertaking calculations of new structures has really developed my technical knowledge.

I thoroughly enjoy the programme. I get to spend one day a week at university in a different city meeting new people from different companies across the country. the university work is varied and Mott MacDonald are really helpful in aiding me with work to supplement the university coursework. it is also nice to have a break one day a week from company work and spend time doing different modules etc

The programme is very well structured. each day is set out on a term by term schedule allowing me to know exactly when I need to be in university and what we are being taught on that day. Mott MacDonald are very good at letting me have all the time I need to attend university.

Endless support is received from Mott MacDonald. They allow me to go to university every week and ensure I have my 20% off the job training. My employer also keep in touch with me regularly regarding my apprenticeship to make sure I am getting the right support from them and asking if i need any additional resources etc.

MY training provider have always been helpful when working towards qualifications. Whether that is reading through my work or providing feedback to ensure the work I am doing is on the right track and any improvements I could make. There is always someone to talk to whether it is in person or over email.

The qualification is a great asset to have. It allows my employer to recognise my achievements and the assets learnt from the course are a great help towards my role. I am able to provide more informed decisions and have a greater understanding for different sectors and roles within my company.

Work have regular sports and social events across all the offices. From regular rock climbing to social events on an evening and welcoming new members of staff with a meal etc. There are also many professional events to attend and many projects I have worked on have been invited to attend award ceremonies.

I really enjoy the social and work ethic of the company. All of the staff I have had the pleasure of meeting are friendly and courteous and are always more than happy to help or answer any questions you may have. the flexibility in working hours and location are also a great bonus.
