Procurement apprentice - look after the mailbox and raise subcontract orders as well as answer any queries. Help assist on other work with supply chain and other buyers where I can. Interact with a wide range of people each day.
Increasing communication skills, learning procurement knowledge and skills needed like stakeholder engagement etc. Lots of good training programmes available such as negotiating, resilience etc.
Thoroughly enjoy the programme, balfour beatty very welcoming and feel like part of the team. Programme pushes you to learn new skills and be the best you can be, lots of good training courses available and the wide range of work we do is interesting.
Well structured, have a development plan in place to get exposure to different departments in the team and also the business. Also get one study day a week.
Receive support from all team members and manager whenever needed.
Support to an extent, the programme itself is good and well structured with workshop and revision days and also catch ups with a tutor who you can go to if struggling. Would say it could possibly help with a few more lessons.
Strongly believe that the CIPS qualification helps me in my job, as learning i can refer it to the things i do or see in the job. I can apply what i am learning and it helps me to understand the role more.
There are company events such as procurement conference, christmas events, charity events for things such as red nose day etc. Also networking groups/ affinity networks such as LGBTQ and gender.
Yes
Really supportive and great company to get into, feel like i can grow my career here from a young age which makes me enjoy my work as well as feeling part of the team very quickly.
Application process was easy, could be marketed more on websites like indeed. Interview was very interactive but also Interviewer was very nice which calmed nerves. Loads of opportunities available and it is about your attitude and work ethic, not your qualifications.
