My role on a day-to-day basis involves me arranging drawings which are intended for site, completing modifications on drawings, attending meetings and completing site packs for sites which include things such as cable tags.
During my time in the apprenticeship scheme at Balfour Beatty i believe i have developed existing skills such as being more organised and believe to have also gained a new skill with having a better eye for detail.
I believe I enjoy my apprenticeship programme to the full extent due to the fact not every week is the same if you don't want it to be. I have recently found my self away from home for college for 7 weeks, then back at the office for 6 weeks and now working on site at the Peterhead substation for the next month at least.
When it comes down to the structure of the programme i believe it could be better.
I receive all the support i ask for from my manager/managers.
I haven't had many issues with the training provider until recently and this was only down to the fact i hadn't received my last assignment from my lecturer even though i finished college two month ago for the year.
I believe it is key, the training i receive at college allows me to gain the knowledge needed to take into work.
Yes plenty ! there are a range of social activities Balfour Beatty provides outside of work with something called NLife such as surfing, flower planting and lots of other things.
Yes
I would recommend Balfour Beatty's apprenticeship programmes to my friends because i believe they give you the qualifications as well as experience to get a good start into whichever side of the business you go into.
When applying to Balfour Beatty and successfully gaining an interview, i believe you just have to go into the interview with full confidence within yourself as well as doing plenty research prior to the interview about the company and industry.
