As project assistant, I work alongside the project manager to help coordinate the team in achieving our deliverables. My day often consists of meetings with clients and contractors, which allows us to stay on track with the programme.
My professional skills have developed hugely, which has helped me interacting with a client or composing emails. Another skill developed was my technical skills, particularly when using specific software. As young professionals we have regular reviews to identify skills that we develop and improve on.
I am really enjoying the program, particularly the people that i am meeting and the training. Despite being an apprentice, you feel a huge sense of value within your team and makes you feel like you’re making a difference.
The program is really well structured because there is regular training and reviews to ensure that you’re making progress as an apprentice. As apprentices we are encouraged to goal set, which is supported by line managers.
There is a huge amount of support available to anyone who needs it. At Mace there are A lot of things in place to ensure that employees feel supported within the workplace. it really is rare to find someone that works at Mace that wouldn’t support you when needed.
our training provider also does reviews to make sure that we are staying on target with our qualifications. They are always there to provide support if we have any issues with our modules.
The qualification is directly related to the role we are in so everything we are learning is applicable to the industry we are in. I have found it most helpful during meetings when conversations around certain topics are happening and my qualification means that I can understand more elements of those conversations
Networking events are very regular at work which allows me to meet new people and expand my network. It’s also just a great to build friendships and it makes your working life more enjoyable. Nice have regular charity events that people get involved with which is another way to meet people
Yes
I would recommend Mace because it’s a great company to work for because it has a focus on its employees. Mace also employs really great people so it’s really easy to meet someone that can build a friendship with.
Researching the company is really important and understanding their values and aims is key. Be yourself, Mace is keen to employ genuine people so being yourself in an interview is a good thing to do.
