  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as an engineer alongside a team, taking on board key projects and developing them for downstream teams. There is a lot of innovation, meetings and design.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • A lot - whilst university work can be tough, being in work is a great experience and feels like I'm actually making a contribution to the company.

    7/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It can be a little unorganised, however it is only new. It means there is more opportunity to develop it and shape the experience into something that suits you.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As much as we need. We have lots of well-being support, and there is a great understanding of how hard university can be alongside working.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not a huge amount. Warwick is quite far away and so they only come down for lectures. They don't have a lot of experience with us and so it an be challenging for them to understand the pressures of both university and work at the same time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My role contains less technical experience than other engineers, and so university does not play into it very well.

    5/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Loads. Lots of people start their own clubs and societies, and there is ones for just apprentices, the whole company, or with other companies too.
