My day to day role consists of working stock. Managing employees and helping to make sure the shop is running smoothly and hitting its targets daily.
The main skill I have learnt is time management and communication. Both skills are vital in the day to day runnings of a shop. The skill I have developed on is problem solving. During my previous involvement with sport and being the captain of the hockey team I always had to solve problems quickly. Alongside this. Everyday is different in our shop and it's requires quick and efficient changes.
I enjoy the fact that everyday brings new and exciting challenges. It's diverse and a quick paced environment.
The organisation has been poor. For the first year I wasn't on the programme due to a sign up issue. However the final year has been better organised.
My line manager has been great support throughout my programme. I have been given lots of responsibility recently.
My training provider has been very helpful and fast to respond to my needs throughout. Any work sent is always returned with great feedback
I have gained lots of knowledge throughout my programme which has given me the confidence to use on the shop floor day to day. Even in regards to terminology, I am able to speak to my managers on a academic level in regards to management
We have organised a football team which play against another Aldi team, we meet a couple of times a month and play a friendly game.
Yes
The skills and confidence I have learnt I strongly believe Aldi is the only employer that has allowed me to excel in a retail environment. The skills I have excelled on have been time management and communication
Always be yourself. Work to your best ability and always work your hardest. Pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone is the best chance to achieve the most
