My role is Highway maintenance operative and my Job is to fix and repair any type of road maintenance e,g tarmac, kerbing, dismantle and mantle signs, occasionally traffic management.
I've learnt how to tarmac and how to make this patch last a long time. Learnt how some of the small plant work such as whacker and jack hammer. How to do traffic management in a safe working way
I enjoy it because it is something different to what I used to do and I like to learn new skills!
It is very well organised and very understanding
I get a lot of support from my employer, they are very understanding and cannot fault them as they do a great job
I get a lot of support when it comes to my qualifications as they are important
It helps me learn new skills that I can use out on site
We do have social activities which is always a great laugh and definitely worth going to
