  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support received from my employer is quite substantial. There are always colleagues to help out at work with work problems. However when it comes to university study it is mainly dependent on the student to learn and do it outside of work hours. The teachers and other student are there to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When it comes to university study it is mainly dependent on the student to learn and do it outside of work hours. The teachers are there to help sometimes, however it can be quite difficult to do so when you only have one day a week to learn and ask questions with them. Especially for a higher level qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The degree I'm doing is very general and does not apply to my role at work that majorly. The qualification helps with my personal knowledge and somewhat applies when going through projects at my work. The degree in a whole would be more useful if it was specialised and not general.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is only one extra curricular activity to get involved with at work and it is called NextUK. This is a social gathering of the graduates, apprentices, trainees, interns and all other learning while earning employees. Its purpose is to help people network and get together developing the social networking skills.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Siemens to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Siemens is a great place to work as it enables people to jump straight in to the professional world while still learning and developing the skills needed to help further the career. The people Siemens employ are all so friendly and eager to help the development of the young staff members. It is a great environment to thrive and work in.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • Be eager and keep asking questions. Without the knowledge the only thing at the start you can display is willingness to learn and develop. This will help you get noticed and learn more effectively. Another would be constantly to be on-top of things and always reply and complete tasks as soon as possible to show your eagerness again. Passion in the job you are applying for will help a lot.
