I work in branch, dealing with families who have lost their loved ones, help them with decisions and supporting them through a difficult time. Taking care of the deceased resting in chapel, checking on them daily. Completing tasks everyday, invoices, costing sheets, arranging orders of service, any documents that is needed for funerals.
Yes, since starting my apprenticeship I have learnt many new skills, which have helped me deal with certain situations in my everyday job. I have met a lot of people who do the same job as me, I have developed my knowledge in a short space of time.
I have enjoyed all of the programme, from online training, to teams meetings, going out on funerals, visits to local crematoriums, I have all my previous training saved, so that I can go back anytime to refresh my memory or just to see how much I have learned since starting the programme.
Very organised, it is very clear what it is I need to do to complete my apprenticeship, my coach always keeps in touch with regular meetings and there if I need anything in between.
Great support, any questions are answered, if for any reason I have not been able to complete my work, for example being very busy in branch, times are easily rearranged.
I have learnt some things that may not have had happened in my day to day work but they are still really important to know, I feel I am prepared to answer anything a client may ask, Confident that I can give them the right guidance.
Due to covid the community work that usually would happen has not for a while, but we are slowly working to get back out within the community. We always take part in window displays for example, Christmas, mothers day, fathers day...
Yes
I have loved working at Co-op funeral care, I have been giving many opportunities to develop in my career. Always praised when I have done something good in my job role, excellent management and a good team all round.
