We have a monthly one day session with the training company learning a new subject, then have the next approx three weeks to complete a project exercise.
We receive one day off a week to enable us to study, plus we can seek assistance from the colleagues and engineers we work with.
Should we be stuck on something, we have 30 minutes a week with an instructor.
Just my personal experience, though I haven't used any of my learnings at this time.
