My role is to facilitate any business change the bank may be making, and completing tasks within the project to get us to our end goal. This may be anything from implementing learning for front line staff to internal reviews to assess impacts to internal procedures.
One of the key aspects of my role is to laisse with internal stakeholders and also other teams within the business to reach our end goal. This is something i feel i have already really developed over my time.
The learning is really focussed on my role and i have yet to come across something that i feel has no correlation to my day to day job. This for me, makes it feel worthwhile and therefor more enjoyable. I also feel valued in my role even as an apprentice.
The learning that is needed to be completed is always clear and the support given again is there when needed. This is divided over both my team/manager within my day to day job or the apprenticeship team within the business and obviously BPP themselves. The structure is clear and laid out at the beggining of the programme so there are no surprises as you got through.
My employer has designated staff to help support us through the apprenticeship whenever needed. My line manager also is always looking for ways to give me the opportunity for me to gain experiences/knowledge for my portfolio which is really helpful. I feel as though whenever there is a challenge ahead, there is always someone there to help and guide us through.
We have our learning sessions which are always recorded and there to be watched back if required, on top of that we have regular sessions with our coaches to provide additional support for anything required. These can be at a set time, however if in between sessions you need to reach out, that is always available.
The qualification i am working towards all seems to be relevant to the role and knowledge i am gaining through doing the course is things that i can recognise through my day to day work. I feel as though even though the course is not yet completed, that it has already helped me settle and contribute more to my day to day.
I would say within work when we have been able (Covid) there is always opportunitys to meet outside of work on a more social level and network effectively. I have found that people on all levels of the business are welcoming and make it feel like a comfortable place to be, inside and outside of work.
Yes
In my current and previous roles i have had some personal challenges over the last few years. They have helped me through everything and always made me feel as though i have there support even when i have required time away from work. This has been invaluable at times and I really don't have anything negative to say about any manager/colleague i have come across in my time here.
As a place of work they provide many opportunities to push yourself and gain additional qualifications and experience. If you are willing to throw yourself into the business i do believe there are plenty of opportunities to succeed and progress. I would also say give yourself time to adapt to the way NatWest do things, there was a lot to learn and many differences from where i have worked previously but i have found that these on the whole are positive.
