On a day to day basis I am a team leader, I am the person in charge when the manager is absent. I am responsible for a team of up to five people at any one time. I must manage the shift according the requirements of the business at the time.
Through the course o have developed a number of new skills. My academic writing skills have developed to a point I did not think possible. I have been able to apply elements of the course in my day to day practice and have been able to apply theory and knowledge to tasks which I was already competent with.
The programme is enjoyable. Having had the ability to meet with my peers through physical study blocks, I have made friends that I will no doubt have for a life time. I have enjoyed most modules and the business and leadership incite which they provide. I did not think I would be back at university in my lifetime and therefore, have enjoyed my time on the program
The program is well structured and each level builds on the previous. The structure allows your academic skills to develop over the three levels and the work gets progressively more challenging. I am kept informed about the program through one to one sessions with my tutor and she is always available via email should I have any issues.
Support from the employer is minimal, however this is not a negative thing. I am given enough time off to meet the 'off the job' requirements and managers have been flexible to allow me to complete work where necessary. I haven't had any issues getting support when it is required.
The support from Anglia Rusking is great, as well as a wealth of information on their website, I have been assigned a personal tutor that is available should any issues come up. Mine has been brilliant, and supported me in moments where I have faced difficulty and questioned whether I continue on the course.
I believe that the qualification allows me to practiceanagement in a way that is proven and backed up by evidence. I am able to apply the knowledge I have learnt to everyday situations, particularly I. My management of people, the leadership values and behaviours modules have been particularly useful. The course has given me significant confidence to further myself within my role too.
As far as I am aware there are few social activities to get involved with through work. These tend to be organised on a personal level rather than business level. Although there are occasional fund raising opportunities which can be completed together with other colleagues. There is some social aspect to this area of the job.

My journey with Co-op has been a positive one. I joined when my life was going through massive change and I had suffered some severe setbacks. On my road to rebuilding my life, Co-op and the colleagues I have worked with have been there for me. This includes friends I have made on the degree apprenticeship. Without them I do not think I would have lasted the course!
Whilst every workplace has its issues, in my experience Co-op offer great opportunities for their employees. There is lots of scope to develop your skills and further your career should you be wishing to do so. Be honest, be brave and fill the application in to the best of your ability. Selection is partially based on behaviours, so of you have the right values you can succeed at Co-op
