  • i oversee the design department at B&Q. This involves dealing with high levels of money and reducing stock loss as well as maintaining a high level of customer service.

  • i have continued to develop my leadership skills and look forward to my next stage with the company

  • i loved the reassurance that what i was doing was right and i also enjoyed the new confidence it gave me. i always felt supported

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • due to covid and lock down the structure of the program was managed as best as it could be but the trainer I had was fantastic, very warm and welcoming and she always kept me up to date with any changes that were happening within the course and ensured i was fully prepared for the EPA

  • i felt fully support by B&Q and my direct team who fully assisted me with moving shifts and giving me the time i need to complete my tasks

  • hope sharman was fantastic. she pointed me in the right direction and ensured i had all the resources i needed to pass

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I was a customer advisor when I first started my apprenticeship course and through this course i was promoted to showroom trading manager where i have been going from strength to strength with increased sales and fantastic personal growth.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Most of my spare time goes into my dancing so I'm unaware of anything extra

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have been with B&Q for over 10 years and I am yet to regret my decision about joining the company. we have great benefits to working here and no 2 days are the same. this company makes you feel like you are working with your family.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to B&Q?
  • come with the right outlook to working in retail and the rest will fall into place..... its nice to be nice
