Day to day involved audit work. Testing of financial statements on a variety of clients. As you progress through the programme, you rise in positions and hence you are given more complex work to look at and more responsibility. As a result, you are expected to carry out work but have support around you.
I have developed over my previous placements. The skills learnt on testing is applicable for future placements as well as other clients. There is more skills to be learnt as you progress through positions and learn more complex information and new testing methods. With the rise of technology, there is more to learn.
I enjoy the programme as it gives a balance of study and theoretical concepts but also practical experience that solidifies learning. There is the scope to learn more and apply this to other university modules. There is a lot of support available from a variety of sources from both the company and the University.
The programme is structured well and you are given clear guidance on what semesters are at University and those at placement. There is information given from support channels but sometimes it would be more effective if these were regular as it helps to gain clarity over some questions students have.
There is a lot of support available. There is Flying start champions in the office who have more relatable experiences and can provide more relatable answers to questions. There are also career coaches who are experienced and can provide technical support and have a more experienced approach and can help with those queries.
There is a lot of support provided during studying semesters. There are tutors on hand to ask questions and the lectures are helpful. However, for some modules that are more complex, there needs to be a bit more support provided as these modules are complex and need a more practical focus.
The modules learnt during studying are relatable to the work as it helps to better understand concepts during work. Also, you are more able to provide quality work if you understand what is the concept behind the theory. As a result, this leads to less questions needing to be asked.
There are a lot of social activities available and they are varied in terms of sport and other events. There is an effort made for people to connect and network not only after but also during work. There is also new events and gathering put in place for more people to join.
Yes
The company is very organised and good place to solidify learning. There is plenty of support available and this is emphasised. You are challenged to produce quality work but you are given support. There is plenty of social activities to be involved in but it requires you to put some effort to join and partake.
Make sure you are clear in your communication. The process is simple but you need to have a clear approach in your answers. Remember to take your time. Speak up and make yourself be known but encourage others to be involved in your discussions as this helps to bring more ideas to the team and overall a better solution.
