setting up new range changes within the store. making sure that all planogram, labels and pos is available for the member of staff actioning the range change for the store. i also have to make sure that the area is safe that the member of staff is working in and that all equipment meets health and safety requirements.
as part of the apprenticeship I learnt many skill while doing the course and externally within store as part of the 20% off the job training. Some of the things on the course I'm learning is laws around retail ,and how different people integrate with different people. i have also done fire champion course and a first aid course.
within the apprenticeship i have learnt a lot of new skills and knowledge that i wouldn't of necessarily known if i didn't do the apprenticeship. the apprenticeship content can sometimes not make sense and be a bit confusing which can sometime make it hard to complete some parts of the course
I think that the induction to the level 3 wasn't what it should of been. i was passed around a few different members of staff from lifetime before i started the programme, this made it hard to get going with the course. i also had a change off mentors during the course that I'm doing and was only told at very last minute that this was happening
getting time to complete task can be hard, it really depends on what staff are in the store at the time and what other tasks i have to complete on a week to week basic. getting support within store can be hard as quite offern the management team are busy dealing with other issues.
getting support from the trainer can be hard as they have quite a few different leaners that they help. quite often I will email the trainer and will hear back and get told that we can look at it at our next visit, this can sometimes be quite frustrating if i need to finish a module at the time
i think that one of the benefits would be that I'm more aware of what I'm doing within my role and how i can support others and how everyone is different within the workplace. i also think that it has helped me grow my confidence within the workplace.
There is not many extra activities that you can do within B&Q. I have been involved within a few different internal training courses including fire champion, first aid and a electrical lighting course. these have all helped me progress within my job role. I also went to a apprenticeship conference, this helped me connect with different people from across the business from other customer advisors to directors of the company .
Yes
i think that B&Q has a lot of different training courses that you can do that can help you progress within different roles within the company and training at you can take with you where every you go. I think that also have a go training for product knowledge that can help talk to different customers about there projects
I think that when applying to B&Q it is good to have background knowledge of the company and what the company sells. when going into a interview it is always good to be yourself and be proactive to show that you have passion for the company that you our applying to.
