I currently work in the wholesale franchise team working alongside one of the senior account managers. Daily tasks include joining customer calls, running reports on rejections, offers etc. There is also lots of project work, for example competition reviews, resolving technical issues and organising events to promote the franchise brand.
Yes! The apprenticeship gives you the chance to continually develop your skills. Throughout the scheme you get to work in a number of teams all which focus on different areas of the business. As well as this there are regular courses that focus on specific skills that you are able to attend.
Since joining the scheme I have loved every minute, it is even better than I expected! Everyone at work is friendly and always happy to help with anything you need. The university experience has also been great and gives you the chance to meet and connect with other degree apprentices across the business.
The scheme is very well structured. In your first year you have one placement. This has worked well as it gives you enough time to properly learn and understand the running's of the business and get settled in to you team and then it still gives you enough time to get properly stuck into your placement.
Since joining the scheme I have felt extremely supported. When you start in your first placement you are assigned a manager who is always there to help, there are also several other people in the team who are there if you need. You are also put in contact with a buddy before joining, this is usually a degree apprentice in the year above, this is really helpful as it gives you the chance to ask them any questions before you start.
The university are very supportive when working towards the degree. We have an assigned module leader who is always there if we have any issues and they book in regular check ins to make sure both university and work and going okay. There are also many other people who are available to help who you are provided contact details for.
Since joining the scheme we have had 6 university block weeks. All of these modules have been somewhat related to work we are doing currently on the scheme or work that we could potentially do at a future point in the business. Most of the assignments have questions which link back to the work you are doing which allows you to develop.
Yes, in most teams they often have team get together to allow you to socialise with everyone, in the wholesale team there is also team week every few months which includes a range of team activities. You do also get the chance to meet with other people in the business, there is a football league and other events across the year in the business.
Yes
I would 100% recommend this scheme to anyone who is looking at a business management degree apprenticeship. This scheme gives you the chance to learn a variety of transferable skills and also meet and interact with senior members in the business. The scheme has a great structure and you are supported all the way through.
Go for it! Be confident and yourself in the application process. Make sure you are familiar and knowledgeable about the business as there is likely to questions on it! Take your time when answering questions and think about them carefully. Always have questions in mind to ask in any interviews.
