Making sure the workshop is clean and tidy, I observe my colleagues and I get to carry out tasks whilst my colleagues give me instructions. I move vehicles around the yard and into the workshop and I also work with the parts department when we need parts for a job
I have developed my communication skills and I have learnt new skills such as learning to use tools and workshop equipment
I am really enjoying my apprenticeship so far, there's so much to learn and everyone from the workshop to the office staff have been really supportive
I think the programme is very organised, which I really appreciate! we have a web-based system which tracks my progress so I always know what tasks I have to do next and how far along my qualification I am. I also like the regular contact I have with my assessor as I know I'm never on my own if I get stuck
I receive lots of support from my colleagues, especially my manager and my mentor. I also have regular reviews and support off the company apprenticeship manager
Lots of support off the training provider with plenty of support documents and also we were given contacts at the start of the programme which means I know who to go to if I ever need help.
We are told how to do things the 'proper way' which means I am carrying out tasks in the workplace safely which means my colleagues trust me to carry out jobs safely
We always have something happening! We have a fundraiser for charity every month, we get involved with cake sales, we have food bought for us every month and we regularly have a walking / cycling challenge on the go
Yes
You have good support, whether you need help with your job or personally such as with your mental health. Also, the wages for an apprentice are really good and the extra curricular activities such as the walking challenges make you feel part of a team that all works together
Get involved! the more you put into your job, the more Motus will give back to you
