I’m a care assistant in a residential home, currently doing night shifts. This includes doing medication rounds, providing hot drinks to residents, assistant residents with personal care before bed and then lots of cleaning during the night before assisting residents to get up in the morning
I’ve learnt a lot since being in care, through lots of training and also through my course I’m currently taking
It’s hard work but I’m grateful for what I’ve learnt and achieved. As not everyone gets the opportunity to take this programme
It’s very well organised I would say
I receive lots of support and advice
I receive lots of support from my training provider, they’ve been so helpful and supportive
As it’s taught me so many new skills and I’ve learnt so much through this course
Not many that I’m aware of, a few social activities and we did have events but they’ve been on hold since coronavirus
Yes
Because it’s helped me learn so much which I put into my job role, giving me more confidence. My training provider has been great and so supportive! And the online system is easy to use and helpful
Only apply if you’re ready to work hard and give your all, but make sure you stay up to date and don’t leave work to last minute
