Quantity Surveying - of which daily tasks include - checking project financials and PO's / updating workbooks, processing payments, communicating with clients, Project Site Health Checks, Monthly Financial Forecasting, Consolidated Application processing.
I have developed my analytical skills and overall project knowledge from start to finish. This also includes my degree through Coventry Uni, internal Mental Health Awareness Training, Internal Training for Health & Safety, SAP BWP 720 Financial process training and much more.
I love the QS programme I am on as it combines my background of construction & finance into one overall job - the two subjects which I enjoy the most. I also am able to earn a wage whilst I learn also.
Very well organised as I have one to one training with my line manager who oversees all the work I am completing. Further to this, I have support from other QS's in the team allowing me to develop and learn as I work.
My employer supports every aspect of my job role and myself - as they allow myself time to study, regular catch ups weekly with management and also a dedicated HR service if any queries arise.
I have access to an Aula platform through Coventry University which includes resources from each lecture and guidance through all topics when studying/completing coursework for my degree. This also has a messaging function to directly communicate with the lecturer also.
As the qualification enables me to understand each aspect of my job on a day to day basis rom running the financials to project management on site and off site.
I personally was part of the Brathay Challenge of which other trainees/apprentice's on the emerging talent programme took part in teams to compete with outreach challenges through the business which was very fun!
