I am an Openreach engineer working in the full fibre team doing installations of fibre to the customers premises to provide full fibre to the premises broadband for out providers.
I have learnt many new skills since starting with Openreach varying from safety and assessing danger and how to reduce or protect yourselves and others. I have learnt many new skills in the telecoms industry and how everything works and how to maintain and improve the quality of the network.
The program is very good at easing you in at the beginning with the relevant information first before introducing you to more complex work without overwhelming you with information.
The program is very structured and is great at adapting to peoples needs and the way people work.
The employer is very supportive in the way you work and can introduce relevant help where its needed for you to succeed.
The training is done with both internal Openreach trainers and external providers that all work together well and give you the relevant information and training and also being very friendly about interacting with you.
The training has vastly helped me with my role giving me all the information needed for me to preform my role and to a quality and safe standard.
Openreach has many different areas that run different events and always have stuff to get involved in especially in the company workplace activity's.
