I am working on a specific audit at a time where the team has a workplan nad everyone is assigned tasks. Some things i do are roll forward schedules, prepearing lead sheets, ticking in samples. Sometimes I have to email clients to ask them about questions that I have about information they have provided.
Since I have started I now have an advanced level 3 diploma in bookeeping. I have developed my ability to communicate with team members when I am struggling with a task.I have learned to challenege clints with information they send and to the prudent with any information they provide.
I enjoy my programme to an extent. I think being on a project where you get along with the team memebrs makes the job more bearable. I like that KPMG has a strong mental health culture which is important because they fully support everybodys mental wellbeing. There is also a massive support system in place.
My programme is organised in the work and education side of it. At work I am given tasks that are doable but may challenge me at the same time which I appreciate. The study organisation is amazing, there are exam dates, study leave dates and college days into everyones schedule.
There is a lot of support. There are buddies that you are matched up with who are 1 year above meanign you can ask questions that may seem dumb to ask managers since your buddies have already been in your positions. There are mothly catch ups with managers to see how you are doing.
We have days of study leave prior to exmas to make sure we are ready. The education provider has forums to ask questions in. There is a portal that we have access to with all the study material we may need for a course. There are lots of exam questions.
The qualification makes you understand thetheory of it and at work you are putting it into parctice. The studies make the tasks that you are completing at work make sense. For example I recently did a VAT exam andf when I came from study leave, I was doing VAT work for a business and everything made sense.
One thing I love about KPMG is their social networks! There is a network(club) for almost everything! Snce I have joined there have been countless events to get people together. One example is first friday drinks where on the first friday of each month after work, kpmg book a bar where they pay the tab for you to have a few drinks with colleagues
Yes
Beacsue it is an amazing company who cares about their staff. They support your career development as welll as you persoal one. KPMGhas many opportunitiies to help you go abroad. The company culture is also great and everybosy cares about each other. You will never feel alone working at KPMG
I would say research the company and have questions on your interview, this shows your interest in the company. For assessment centres, which can be quite nerve reacking, be yourself, I know it may be hard, but this is what makes you stand out from the crowd and get you noticed by the recruiters
