  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • A day to day overview of my role at Aldi is quite varied as during my apprenticeship, I have to go to various departments throughout the warehouse and learn to adapt to how they operate. For example, I am on the Ambient department and some of my roles at the minute would be to pick the products that are getting sent out to certain stores. I also have to complete apprenticeship coursework as well in order I am keeping up to date with everything and that I am fully understanding the job roles.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my apprenticeship because it gives me the possibility to learn as much as I can about all the various job roles which is good because it will give me a good general understanding about how each of the departments operate and how each role in that department is key and how all of the roles function as well.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My apprenticeship is well structured and planned out because during the course of my apprenticeship, there was a month by month rota made which details where I will be going at what time. There is also a week by week plan of how my month on that department will go and what type of work I will be doing on that area which is good because it shows that they are well organised and well prepared.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From my employer, I receive lots of support and the Section Leaders and Deputies are all approachable and they can also provide additional support where necessary which as an apprentice is a good thing because you are still learning all of the roles and requirements that all of the departments need to have. This also means that if there is something that I have a problem with or need support with, I can approach a leader and they can provide the right amount of support which is a good thing.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When I first started my apprenticeship, I received a phone call from the apprenticeship provider detailing what I had to complete and the requirements that were needed off me so that I can complete the apprenticeship with the highest grade possible. There is also supposed to be a weekly phone call with the apprenticeship provider where they can provide support when I am completing tasks that need to be completed which is good because they would be providing adequate support.

  • The qualification that I complete through the training provider helps me to perform better in my role because when I am completing the coursework, I have to go through the roles and equipment that I use and detailing this will also help me understand the role better and this could also help me to perform better in the future as well.
