My roles includes the day to day servicing of clients. This includes their renewal process from information gathering to obtaining quotes in the market to putting together a presentation for the client to review before making their decision on who to renew with. I also handle their day to day queries should they have any
I've learnt a lot of new skills since joining Willis Towers Watson. Most notably skills in the insurance industry. I have gained a much better understanding of how insurance really works and also how the differing markets trend and how the cycle works too. Work has also helped me with my people skills in that I am far more confident now.
I really enjoy my day to day work, interacting with my team is always a pleasure, especially in person office days since the pandemic hit. The actual apprenticeship work is quite tedious and is not what I was expecting but I get it done and I should hopefully have it all finished soon
I think the structure has been ok overall. I started the first year by just doing the day to day work activities alongside exam workshops which were really good. Where it trailed off was when I was introduced to my skills coach and she set me a lot of other work to do.
I receive a lot of support from my team. Each individual understands what I am going through to get to where I need to be and they are always more than happy to help answer queries of mine and help me prepare for my exams. I couldn't be happier with it
I get an ok amount of support from my provider but I have to ask if I need it more so than it being offered. I much prefer the support from within my team anyway so I'm not really bothered about the support from the provider as I have industry experts next to me 5 times a week!
I don't really feel like it makes much of a difference to be honest. All of the day to day work that I know is thanks to actually experiencing it and doing it. I do feel as though I'm doing the qualifications as a tick box to please others...
There is plenty of outside activities to get involved in. We actually have a company volunteering day coming up in July and then we are due to do another charitable event later in the year as a team then go out in the evening for more social activities. We also, as a company, put on a wide range of professional events to attend
Yes
Willis Towers Watson is a great company to work for. There is so much flexibility within the company and everyone is so understanding of your needs. As a company there are also great benefits to choose from when starting which can be reviewed annually and the people you work with are just a delight!
I would say just be yourself. No one is going to judge you for being your true self. Be confident and also knowledgeable about the history of Willis Towers Watson. Do your research and what's happened in our history but most importantly, get yourself clued up on what the Willis values are and how you can relate to them
