My day to day role varies but normally includes the stock management of our department; making sure all parts are counted. Another role is dealing with new stock which hasn't been 'housed' before so my day to day role includes finding new locations. I also have more customer focused roles, this involves dealing with customers over the counter and dealing with internal customers such as the service department.
I have learnt many skills such as the use of software where the parts department use to boom parts out and invoicing customers orders. In addition to learning new skills, I have developed my engineering skills; so know I'm able to locate parts on an engine which I didn't have a clue on. I have also developed my customer skills so I know can deal with various customers who require different needs.
It's been an enjoyable experience, the programme has opened many doors in the trade. Also, the coursework isn't too complex and with regular tutor sessions, It's quite easy to stay up to date with the work. And the great thing about the programme is you receive a great qualification at the end.
It's organised to a somewhat great extent, the work is well planned out and you're regularly informed when sessions will take place. Also, at the beginning, you're given a rundown in what the course entails, so you know the exact work you need to provide in order to prepare for the end point assessment.
My managers are well supporting, they regularly ask if I need any help if required. When applicable, they allow me to complete any work when I ask them. Not only in the programme, they also push for me to work my way up the career ladder in the near future.
I receive great support from the training provider. Especially, from my tutor who always supports me on a regular basis. Whenever, I require help, I always have their contact number in case I need help or rearrangement is required due to an emergency. Furthermore, my provider are also supportive in extra training.
I believe it's beneficial because the qualification gives me insight on how a business performs in different departments. My role includes working with internal and external customers, so being able to provide a high level of customer service is mandatory and I believe this qualification gives more insight on business and customer requirements.
At the moment, I can't say. Not that it's required but it would be great fun. For example, a social activity such as Go-Karting would be great as it would get all colleagues to cool down and get competitive on the track. I believe something like this would be beneficial especially to great a strong relationship with the business and it's employees.
Yes
I would recommend Motus Commercials to friends who want get into the motor trade. The support you receive from upper management is well appreciated and you feel very supported throughout your journey at Motus commercials..
I would say to be true to yourself and show why you're passionate about the trade. I would also not to to be advised to be put off by the wages as that's something which would increase over time. If you get an interview, make sure to look smart and try research the business and the role you have applied for. Competition is fierce so preparation is key.
