I enjoyed the college side of the apprenticeship however I feel 13 blocks of college isn't enough for EPA as I am currently getting ready for mine I've definitely not been taught things that are coming up on the IMI practice test questions.
Not very organised, most things get told the day before or even the day of the event happening. College side there is no Information on what we will be studying for the 2 weeks when we are down in Bristol, this means we cant prepare ourselves for it.
I receive support from my dealership and manager, motus do help but not directly from themselves it's always through the dealership.
Ever since I got my new skills coach [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] he's been brilliant and sorted me out as the previous ones never turned up and gave very mixed messaged less than 9 months before my epa. Skillnet were not good at the start with all the jumbled messaged and email they sent our regarding training ect. It got very hectic and I had to just ignore them and try to speak to a skills coach but they were quiet literally useless with helping me out as they didn't know anything themselves and had only visited me 3 times in 3 years.
I feel skillnet could do alot more with epa practice questions and a more structured visit plan. As I am on the DAF apprentice panel, we have discussed this and hopefully some changed will come from this. There was no real feedback for how I can perform better in my job role either
No there are no activities within the dealership network,
Yes
I've previously had a friend join our depot here and withing 3 month they had just walked out due to other reasons but they're supportive and there is enough opportunities.
Try and speak to employees before committing and see what it's like. Everyone has different views of motus
