My current role is a analyst. I support the different teams within the programme with PMO activities such as document management and facilitating meetings. I primarily work with the Governance Team to ensure that the team work together in an agile way and handle the weekly reporting to leadership. I am also responsible for carrying out a training needs analysis for the new system as well as the onboarding process for new team members.
Over the few months, I have been able to develop many skills both at work and whilst studying. I've completed two certifications in Microsoft Azure cloud and several other course via our learning portal. Whilst working on my project, it has helped me to build my confidence working with clients and multi tasking. I have also become proficient using excel, I am now able to use advanced formulae to create client trackers and deliverables
So far my experience within my company was been quite pleasant. The workload has been manageable and my team has been super friendly and supportive. I like that I was given responsibilities within my project, I expected to be shadowing people but that isn't the case. One thing that stands out about my company is that it feels like a community because there is a large support system and clubs that you can join.
The programme seems quite well organised. Our induction week has a set agenda and provided us with all the information that we would need. There is also a set agenda for the rest of the year, eg. which dates we are expected to attend university, how many modules there are, and also days we can take off for studying. I do think that more can be done to support apprentices within work because sometimes, I feel like there is a lack of opportunities and acknowledgement for us.
In general, everyone seems very friendly and supportive; there are many people you could go to. My people lead is always has regular check ins with me and ensures that I am making good progress within my career. It is a good channel to be able to raise any concerns or issues. Additionally, we also receive an apprentice buddy which is really useful because they can relate to me as they have/are also in the programme but in higher years.
Our training provides provides a decent amount of support. We have our programme leader who we can reach out to via Teams or email regarding any queries or concerns. Alongside our professors, we also have mentors that are more easily accessible if you need support. However, I do feel like they can do more to support apprentices, especially when it comes to hybrid working.
I definitely think that the qualification we are studying towards helps me in my role, especially the modules about business practices and change management because they enabled me to demonstrate greater understanding in my project. In terms of the technical modules, what we have learnt so far has been pretty basic and I have not had the opportunity to use this at work yet but I hope that in Year 2 of the apprenticeship, we'll learn about this to greater depth.
There are many opportunities to get involved in extra curricular activities. We get 3 volunteering days a year which we can use volunteer towards any cause of your choice. I recently attended a team building event at a farm which was really fun and a great way to relieve stress. Additionally, there are always events happening in the office which are always fun to attend; you get to catch up with friends and also get the chance to network with new people.

Accenture is a well know company and they provide you with several opportunities to develop your skills and grow. You get the opportunity to work alongside several experienced colleagues and also get access to learning platforms that you can complete certifications in anything you find interesting. The thing that I like most about Accenture is that you get a lot of control over your career, you are able to find your own projects in areas that interest you.
During the application process, you are not required to be super technical or have a strong technical background, they are looking for people who have a passion for technology and the rest they can teach you. Ensure you stay authentic and demonstrate that you have carried out research about Accenture and what they do.
