In the role I carry out you are on hand for any breakdowns that may occur throughout your shift also planned maintenance and any checks that need carrying out
Since joining tarmac I have learnt a lot of new skills and from there developed the skills that I have learnt
I enjoy working for tarmac and the jobs u do and the things you learn and the fact u can better yourself and have projects to looks into and sort out
I feel that the apprenticeship side of thing could be alot better structured due to being put on the wrong course and went told about it nothing progressed with it and then having to do another apprenticeship setting me back in wages and time
Since starting here I have had a quite a few catch with management about how things are going and progressing with my work side of things. Only a handful about my apprenticeship and how things are going
Keighley college were good for helping towards the quification and NVQ. Kendal college have been excellent was helping towards passing exams and teaching side of thing
I believe it helps another because it shows u basics of your role to start with which you can bring back to work and expand thoughts skills when at work and are there when u have questions and they explain it to out to you
Yes there are a few I am aware of. But we have started a sigb cricket team vs the local villages next to the site
Yes
Yes I would recommend it to someone that is already qualified specific trade as they are a very good company to work for and have a lot of benefits, plus most people who worked here stay for long periods of time. However someone who is wanting an apprenticeship I personally would not advise due to being put on the wrong course and when the concern was raised was told they were going to look into it and once finished that course put onto another 4 year apprenticeship. Which then sets you back in many ways and not had any conformation on what happens with my wage from this. So I will be doing an apprenticeship for 6-7years because of it. Which is way to long.
If your qualified already to show past jobs and experience and be confident, for people applying for apprenticeship make sure you are put on the right course and ask for a structured plan for year by year on your apprenticeship
