I was put on a range of clients throughout my 11 month placement. I was given the responsibility of a number of areas across each client's financial statements in which I had to work with people in my team as well as other PwC teams abroad to complete my audit of.
I have developed my IT skills drastically as used Excel every day as well as other sampling and modelling tools. My communication skills were also developed as I worked not only with PwC UK but my client whose HQ was abroad. Time management (as I was studying towards the ACA alongside working) skills were also developed.
I enjoyed it tremendously. I was extremely busy most of the time which was good as allowed me to develop at a rate I wouldn't have otherwise. The community at PwC was incredibly friendly and challenging.
Very well structured - I had a 'buddy' in the intake above me as well as a Career Coach as management level. I was essentially treated the same as those on the Grad Scheme which is very well organised.
Lots of support - the HR team were very accessible, as were my managers. I was given one of the managers as a Career coach and also a 'buddy' in the intake above me so I could contact either of them with any questions.
Lots of support - Kaplan had online support which could be messaged with any queries regarding the content of what we were learning. I could also email my tutor and ask questions in class. My tutors were all very approachable and caring.
What I learned in my qualification supported my day-to-day work. This makes me eager to complete my ACA qualification so i can put more theory into practice.
I was a part of the netball club which ran once a fortnight which was great. I also attended many of the social events in the evening and peer group meals.
Yes
A challenging environment which enabled me to develop my communication, time management and analytical skills. Every single colleague of mine was so eager to help me when i needed and had a real want to see me succeed and achieve my own goals.
PwC definitely incorporate their framework into every aspect of their recruitment process as well as day-to-day work at the firm. They truly live their values.
