  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Selling & designing kitchens, bathrooms & bedrooms to customers through design appointments and walk in's. Managing installations of the designs we create and following through the process with the customer step by step to ensure the customer's experience is done to an impressive extent.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Learning about the sales and marketing side of the business has shown to capture my interests as I'm looking into more courses around these subjects and hope they will help with pursuing my career further in the business.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I greatly enjoy the programme, my mentors at lifetime are incredibly helpful and supportive through the process and offer any help they can.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It's broken down into sections to limit the amount we have to do at one time, we aim to do a section a month so we still have plenty of time for our personal lives and it gives us the ability to manage how we complete the set tasks around our work schedules.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer encourages us to share our experiences of the course so far, making sure we have time during our busy work schedules to catch up of the sections if we need the extra 30 minutes to go through an additional segment.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is always very supportive and calm throughout the process of working towards the qualification, they offer their advice when needed and help us through each question and query perfectly.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Since marketing and business are now something of interest to me, the qualification explain further in depth regarding these topics which helps when customers do ask me questions regarding the business.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have fundraisers for the business foundation which have proved to be incredibly entertaining and fun.

  • 9a. Would you recommend B&Q to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Compared to my previous place of employment, Bamp;Q has been a much needed fresh start. The support & encouragement I've received from my colleagues and managers has been extortionate, they've all made me feel very welcome and comfortable here.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to B&Q?
  • The work can be challenging, but you'll have plenty of support to get through the difficult times.
