My job role is Bid Manager. I work with sales teams and account management teams to win and retain business contracts across all divisions of the phs Group. My job is to assess tenders to ensure we can meet requirements and provide high-quality responses to tender questions, whilst managing the legal and commercial elements of the tender.
Yes. Following my apprenticeship I have really built my confidence at work and feel more equipped to deal with situations I previously found daunting, such as presentations and chairing large meetings. I also feel I am able to deal with stress more effectively. I have recently been promoted to a management role and this course has definitely helped prepare me for this.
I thoroughly enjoyed the programme and found that my assessor from CMI was extremely helpful and provided regular guidance, feedback and input throughout my apprenticeship. Whilst some of the elements of the course were difficult and required a lot of work, I can honestly say the end result was well worth investing 13 months into.
Very well structured. It was clear from the first workshop what we were to expect along the course and what we needed to do in order to achieve a pass or distinction grade. The portal used was very clear and easy to use, and also useful to track current progress.
My line manager was very supportive throughout the duration of the programme and I felt that if I needed help in a particular area on the course that she would help me where she could. I also feel that phs Group are excellent at providing employees with opportunities to develop in their career.
I had regular meetings with my assessor who helped and guided me through the process. Should I have needed further meetings with her or needed to ask her opinion on a certain question, I know she would have been on hand to support me. They are very good at what they do
I feel that now I have been promoted into a Management role my qualification will become extremely useful over the coming months as I prepare for new tasks and new areas of work I'm not familiar with. I also believe within the next year or so I will have line management responsibility, and this course is ideal for this.
Due to Covid much of this has not been available to us however events are starting to come back, for example we have a phs Sales Conference taking place at the end of July which will give everyone the opportunity to meet others across the company. This will be great as much of our work is conducted on teams.
Yes
The company has an excellent learning and development ethic and in the last two and half years I have been working here I feel that I have learned a lot and advanced my career. They are good at seeing potential in people and driving you to be the best you can be.
Prepare for a two stage interview process. phs are keen on retaining staff and promoting internally, so if this is something you would like (rather than changing jobs frequently) phs are very good for this. Currently the onboarding process may be different to mine as I joined during lockdown but despite this my induction process was handled extremely well.
