As an audit associate I provide audit services to a variety of clients across all business sectors. I interact with my colleagues on a daily basis and occasionally interact with clients through our document transfer site. I mainly to evidence gathering activities across many different financial areas. Cash, PPE, etc.
Developed my communication skills, both written and oral, by interacting with colleagues and clients. Participated in some study towards professional qualification which will help me in my third uni year. Learned the ins and outs of a day at work in a financial services setting. Also developed time management skill.
I enjoy knowing I have contributed to an increased sense of trust from society in our financial system. I am glad that the company has been understanding to my special needs. I enjoy interacting with my colleagues. I enjoyed going to Chesterfield and interacting with the client while helping them.
Induction and training were well organised. Support is in place from career coach, buddy system, and opportunities for counselling and other mental health help. Studying also organised well through Kaplan. One problem with organisation is schedule/timetable changes at the last minute. Task delegation and team hierarchy were well done.
I received a lot of support and this was one of the best parts of the placement. At first they didn't seem very supportive but as time went on and I explained more of my conditions they began to support me in a lot of ways. Understanding and patient.
Support was good regarding studying towards qualifications. I do not have much experience with this as it was agreed with the firm that I would not have to do the studying as I would not be returning after uni. I am glad they gave me this option, I appreciated it.
N/A, please see above answer.
Yes, there are voluntary and charity activities, many company events such as away days, gatherings at bars and formal balls. In fact my first day on the job was an event at a hotel in Birmingham. One previous away day was at Go Ape which involved an adventure through treetops.
Yes
Firm are very supportive and understanding of an individual's needs. Vast majority of colleagues are lovely to work with. Great if you like travelling to different client sites to do work in person. Opportunities for flexible working locations and hours. A great experience that can launch your future career.
Do your research. Look at interview skills, popular assessment centre activities and guides to applications. Make sure you know what your skills are and which of these skills the firm will want from you. Basically prepare for everything you can, and go over things so you don't forget them.
