  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. I have developed my academic skills throughout the audit - gaining a greater theoretical understanding of what audit is and the internal workings of the industry. I have also improved my professional communication skills which will benefit me in the future. Communicating with clients on a one to one basis allowed me to do this.

  • I have really enjoyed my placement. Working with experienced people has allowed my to learn more about the profession. • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The PwC aspect of my degree programme is very well organised. The training programme at the start of placement was well structured which allowed me to organise my learning and benefit from the tutorials. The university aspect of the degree is less organised, this is mainly due to this being the first year this degree apprenticeship has been done at my university.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support from my employer. Senior members of my team, as well as my career coach provided me with constant coaching, reassurance and support throughout my placement. This was done through online chats/meets and in person conversations. I also received formal feedback which supported my development.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider was hit and miss with support. At the start of my programme the support was very good, however, as the programme went on, the support decreased along with the organisation and quality of teaching. This became extremely stressful, however, toward the end of the year, the university noted this and ensured things would change for the following academic year.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although there have been a few issue with the university. The teaching has facilitated my performance within my placement role. Leaning theoretically in university has allowed me to develop practically within my placement. Furthermore, the difficult of my qualification has more than prepared me for the world of audit and its challenges.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes. There have been multiple social events helped by my employer. These have allowed me to meet new people and communicate with senior members of my team who would otherwise be to busy to sit and chat within working hours. I have specifically enjoyed the social evenings and networking events.
