Worked with trainee solicitors and various other members of the firm to explore different areas of law and learn more about the firm. I took part in group activities surrounding different cases and leases to develop my knowledge of the law and sepcifically commercial and employment law throughout the course
Taking part in the group activities definitely helped further develop my confidence in speaking to people I do not know and also my ability to work well as part of a team. Furthermore, I learned to be more precise and have an attention to detail when it comes to agreements and leases.
I enjoyed it thoroughly. I thought that the organisers were very kind and understanding of any circumstances to do with connection, results etc. which meant that we would have to miss a session or two. All the solicitors we met were also incredibly kind and very informative and open to talk about their experiences.
It was very welll organised. The communication trhough emails was very consistent and the organisers replied very efficiently. They were also very understanding of the difficulties of virtual work experience and possible connection problems too. In general, everything was very efficient, ran smoothly and there's nothing i can criticise.
From speaking to the trainee solicitors, we got a real feel for the close-knit culture of the company and how happy everyone is to work there. It seems as though the company offers really good opportunities and the employees feel safe and comfortable in the environment that has been built there.
This work experience definitely confirmed my desire to become a solicitor. From exploring the lease and case examples as well as speaking to the solicitors already working at the firm, I found that this is something I can see myself doing for my career and soemthing I will probably enjoy a lot in the future
We were not paid for this experience. This was a virtual work experience program for school students so we did not get paid this was more so just an opportunity for us to explore careers in law and decide whether this was the right path for us to take in the future
Yes, we had sessions that allowed us to meet employees of the firm and talk to them about their experiences as solicitors there and the cases they have worked on. We also had networking luncges which allowed us to connect with other people in the porgram on different platforms like linkedin.
Yes
The people who I spoke to and who presneted during my wokr experience were alll incredibly kind and were very open in answering any questions that we had for them. The environment of the firm seems very close-knit and everyone seems very supportive of other people's achievements and work.
From the advice I was given, definitely just show that you have a great interest in the firm and the career paths that they offer but also do not be afraid just show your true self, the firm is very inviting and try their best to make you feel comfortable
