The experience consisted of a variety of virtual sessions delivered by trainee solicitors and solicitors which covered different areas of law. There were some interactive group exercises, presentations and individual legal tasks to complete which were designed to give us an insight into life as a trainee solicitor or solicitor.
I learnt a lot about the legal profession as a whole, both in the day to day life of lawyers and the process of becoming a solicitor. I have developed my knowledge and understanding of the legal profession and developed skills such as attention to detail through looking over example contracts.
I really enjoyed the work experience because it was very informative but also delivered in a very engaging way. Everyone was really friendly and were very happy to answer any questions we had. I have learnt a lot from the placement and it has definitely made me want to pursue a legal career.
The work experience was very well organised with a huge variety of sessions. We got to meet a lot of trainee solicitors who all had some different advice for us. The sessions were a good length too which made them very engaging and informative. The tasks were well thought out to ensure we gained a lot of knowledge and skills through completing them.
I learnt a lot about the company and it seems like a good place to work. Everyone involved in the placement was really friendly and helpful. We also received a presentation on how the company is a responsible company and there seems to be a lot of good community engagement from the country.
The work experience placement has definitely made me want to pursue a career in law and I particularly enjoyed the litigation case study which seems like something I would enjoy to do as a career. They also gave lots of advice on applications for trainee placements and vacation schemes which was helpful in understanding how to pursue this.
It was an unpaid 4 day work experience placement with the option of an in person insight day at one of the offices. The rest of the placement was virtual which meant there was no need for reimbursement. The experience gave me a lot of useful insight so I would definitely not expect to be paid for it.
We had various sessions with different trainee solicitors and solicitors where we got a lot of insight into their day to day jobs and experiences. There were also optional networking lunches where we could talk to other students on the placement over our lunch break which gave a great opportunity for networking.
Yes
The work experience placement was very useful and insightful and everyone involved in the virtual sessions were very genuine and friendly. It seems like it would be a great place to work in the future and I would highly recommend the placement to anyone interested in pursuing a legal career.
I would definitely say to be yourself in the applications because everyone at the company is really genuine and friendly. I would also say to get involved with everything because they cover such a wide variety of law that there is definitely something to suit everyone even if it isn’t what you would expect to enjoy.
