Operating a retail store with responsibilities for all that is involved Staff, store security, banking , deliveries both in and out.
All the time developing new skills
At first was ok but what was to take a year yearly ended up 3 years. Very little support from any mentors. Going to monthly sessions with trainers was ok but rarely had the same trainer twice.
Structure was ok and learnt a lot from going to sessions. Again though, no real support
Support from management and team was very good and was able to initiate new ideas onto the shop floor with support from management
Hardly any. Only at the monthly sessions
Very well, it gives me greater confidence. A lot of what I learnt I have put into practice in my role as a manager
Haven't really got time to get involved in any events that involve work. Spend my pare time as the lead singer with a well known rock band and when I'm not doing that I study astrophysics
Yes
You can learn a lot from this particular side of retail especially DIY etc
