  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme very much - I find everyone in my team is always helping me if I am unclear on something or they are able to let me know how we used anything I've learnt in my apprenticeship in Costain. The providers are also very helpful in my programme.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say it is very well organised, I have regular one-to-one's with my manager, development coach and regular training sessions. I know who to contact if I have any questions or need support and it is clear what I need to be able to gain my qualification at the end.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support, the provider always allows us to ask lots of questions in the training sessions themselves and are very quick at responding to e-mails, if any sessions are missed they are always happy to follow up with you after to re-cap anything that was missed. There are however quite a few training sessions that have been missed (not their fault due to sickness etc) and I feel like I haven't spoken to my provider in a while so it would be good to have some more contact from then.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I am only quite new to completing this qualification but I believe that it helps me perform better in my role as I have learnt a lot of knowledge, skills and behaviours and I am then able to apply this to my everyday role and find out how other team members may use this too

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are also lots of events that we attend to promote Early Careers.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Costain to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Costain to a friend as there is so much potential for growth and development, they are always willing to put the time and effort into their employees to ensure that they are successful in their role and are able to progress. Everyone that I have met is also very friendly and helpful.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Costain?
  • I would advice that people look into and research the work ethic that is expected and put it into practice every day. The more you put in the more you get out when working for Costain.
